Dear Mrs Ellis,

Re: Application for Membership in Family and Children's Services of Waterloo Region

I am responding to your recent request to purchase a membership in Family and Children's Services of Waterloo Region

In view of the Child Protection application concerning your children which is currently proceeding to trial, and in view of the Statement of Claim against your husband which the agency has filed in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in respect of your husband's libel of certain staff members of the agency, there would appear to be a significant conflict of interest on you part in seeking to become a member of the agency at this time. For this reason, the agency is not prepared to accept your application for membership.

Consequently, I am returning your cheque to you.

Yours sincerely,

/signed/

Peter G. Ringrose,
Executive Director.

Dear Mr and Mrs Ellis,

Re: Application for Membership in Family and Children's Services

Earlier this year, you spoke to our Executive Director Peter Ringrose, at the agency's offices and requested to become members of Family and Children's Services of Waterloo Region. Mr Ringrose explained that your request would be considered by the Nominating Committee and that you would be notified of the committee's decision after its meeting.

I am writing to let you know that the Nominating Committee has reviewed your request and has concluded that your application does not meet the criteria for membership in Family and Children's Services. Your application has, therefore, been declined.

Yours sincerely,

Kevin Chalk,
President.

Dear Superintendent Kevin Chalk:

Re: Application for Membership in Family and Children's Services

I have reviewed your letter of June 14th, 2005 in which you inform me of the Nominating Committee's decision to decline my Membership. In your letter you state the decision was based on my "application criteria". The application I submitted to Mr. Ringrose consisted of my name, address and a $10.00 fee. Would you inform me of the requirements or conditions you are looking for so I can have a fair chance of meeting the standard needed to become a member?

I'll look forward to hearing from you with your explanation of the criteria I failed to meet.

Please reply within a timely manner (two weeks) or I will be seeking the assistance of the Human Rights Commission.

Sincerely,

Patricia Ellis
