A Palm Beach County child abuse investigator who got
naked on the Howard Stern radio show this week will face
consequences when she gets back from vacation.
The investigator, Alison Cushman, took off all of her
clothes so Stern could critique her body on his Sirius
satellite radio show Tuesday morning. Naked photos of
her are posted on the show's Web site.
Marilyn Muñoz, a spokeswoman for the Department of
Children and Families in Palm Beach County, said the
agency will take "appropriate action" against Cushman.
As a state investigator, Cushman is responsible for
checking out reports of child abuse and helping decide
whether children should go into state foster care.
"State employees are held to a higher standard, and
as such, unbecoming behavior will not be tolerated,"
Muñoz said.
Cushman married Boynton Beach police Detective Troy
Raines on March 25, according to their engagement
announcement. The two stopped by Stern's studio in New
York on a trip this week.
Raines talked about his sex life with his new wife
and gave Stern a shirt and replica of his badge,
according to the show's Web site,
www.howardstern.com.
Raines also said one of his best friends was
responsible for a "tazing" audio clip that the radio
host plays on his show. The video of an officer firing
a Taser first appeared on the Palm Beach Post Web site
May 29, 2005, in a story about the stun guns.
"We have heard rumors about his appearance, but he
hasn't been back to work since the alleged appearance,"
said Boynton Beach police spokesman Lt. Jeff Katz. "We
haven't had an opportunity to discuss the incident with
him."
Neither husband nor wife could be reached for
comment. Cushman is due back to work on Monday, Muñoz
said.
Cushman first appeared on Stern's show on Feb. 15,
2005. During the interview, "Howard took a call from a
woman named Alison who said she was downstairs, a huge
fan, and wanted to come up and get naked for Howard,"
according to a summary on the Web site.
Stern thought she was cute and said she would be a
real knockout if she lost weight. Cushman, 31, then let
one of Stern's producers, Gary Dell'Abate, circle
problem spots on her body with a black marker.
The child abuse investigator "started to blame her
stressful job as the reason she's overweight, but Howard
told her if she lost the weight, she'd be able to find a
rich guy to take care of her so she wouldn't need to
work," according to the Web site.
He then joked that she should run, not fly back to
Florida, and said he would contact her later for a
series on cute girls who would be hot if they lost
weight.
On Sirius radio Tuesday morning, Stern "mentioned
that Alison's rear end looked 'better,' but that she
needed to get on the scale so he could see if she'd
actually lost as much weight as she claimed," according
to the Web site.
Stern ruled that Cushman "was on the verge of being
'extremely hot.'"
